Does anybody know if you can make terraced houses on The Sims 2?

Also, can you make flats, with two separate families with different sirnames?

I tried making two houses next to each other, but it still left a gap between them.

I don't think it's possible. The only way to "simulate" a possible block of units is with a university dorm.

I'm not sure this is what you mean, but....you can combine households. Move one family or sim in and then create another and combine the households by clicking on the new family or sim in the neighborhood screen and then clicking on the house you want them to move into.

Also, you can lock doors to allow a certain sim or allow household only once you have the Open for Business expansion pack.
