How can a persons legal property be confiscated if it was bought in good faith? where is the recompense for me?

no..not if you have a recipt and proof that you took it there in the first place.

well contrary to the answers so far if you take a Seconda Watch in that is fake they will confiscate it and Seconda take up any legal issues. They can report the fake to the Local Trading Standards who can request that the shop keeps it till they can come and they will definitely confiscate it under copywrite protection laws and they get a commission off the legal owner of the design.

No, but if you get stopped by Italian customs they will confiscate and destroy any fake designer goods regardless of how long you have had them or where you bought them.
They even do roadside checks now.

I know that if you pay for something with a fake 20 note and it is recognised as such the cashier has the right to take it from you, thus taking it out of circulation.

emphatically NO. Retention of property for copyright infringement can only be carried out with a warrant/court order.
If they attempt to its Theft and you can demand the jewellers are prosecuted.

NO you brought it in good faith. I heard that before tho, i got told they're allowd to put a hammer through it! ha! a myth mate ; )

oh i wud like to know the answer to this as i have a bretling watch sure is fake but is really good, where can you sell, cant on ebay as maybe a copy? let me know thanks
