Its a big joke that the SP is trying to project Amitabh as the next presidential candidate. I don't question the loyality of the SP leader toward Amitabh and I am also a hard core of Amitabh as he is.
Just because the leader and Amitabh wanted to settle a score with the congress leader this will not work out inspite of all the tall talk (they are facts) about the association of the bachan family with the gandhi family. All those relations have broken since the last days of Rajiv (coutesy: the bofors scandal etc).
Sonia is not a person to forget the past so quickly and look what kind of respect she had showered to P V Narashima Rao after he quit politics. And look to what kind of tactics she used to putthe bachans in a tight spot in many a issue in the recent past.
Lets not forget that the next president cannot be elected without the support of the congress party. with both the families at logger heads, i see a slim chance that amitabh will ever become a president and the loss will make him a big zero among the citizens who still respect and pray him for his super star status in the film industry.
Amitabh please do not venture into this mid-adventure

i think it wont make the slightest amount of difference. any independent would have to make the most unusual showing in the history of the united states to even have a slim shot at the presidency. the closest was ross perot and this is no ross perot. furthermore the pelosi/reid regieme has successfully sold the american public a bill of goods regarding villifying bush to somehow justify the cowardice of cut and run. count on alot of whining and last minute grandstanding to try to justify the razor thin majority as a mandate and somehow polarize disenchanted voters to either obama or god forbid...hillary. it ought to be an interesting and laughable show but will definitely lock out any indpendent from being anything but a possible spoiler.

No, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is not at all interested in being a politician. He is very happy with what he is.

Why not ? Everyone can stand for election in a democracy. I think big B is intelligent and bold and would refuse SPs strategy to play politics with his celebrity status.

Are you mad? Obcourse every Indian citizen has the right to contest in election. He may be no.1 in acting but I dont ythink it will be wise to think his name for the next Presidential candidate.

Even if SP wants to nominate Big B, they won't get seconded as Congress and SP are sworn enemies...and Sonia isn't exactly fond of Big B. I think Pres. Kalam should get a 2nd term, pending his approval. Big B is not Politician stuff...he should stick to his field.
