I am leaving work at 37 weeks pregnant but at the moment I am 29 weeks and getting fed up already! I am finding it increasingly difficult to even just sit at my desk as my baby is very high and causing pain in my ribs and terrible heartburn. I feel bad as I always thought I would be fine as my job is not physical but as it's my first I just never realised how hard it is. If I was on my feet all day I think it would be easier so the baby is not all squashed up in my chest. Perhaps he/she will drop in the next few weeks so it is a little more comfortable.

I am currently 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant... I planned to work right up until my first contractions, but I'm very uncomfortable (and the roads outside are icy - which poses a danger) so I think I'll make today Day 1 of my maternity leave.

I only get 6 weeks maternity leave, so I worked up to going into labor. At least that was the plan, I got put on bedrest about 4 days before I went into labor due to blood pressure....but that was covered under medical, thank goodness.

I worked two different type of jobs for the same company. I worked with (arc) as a aid for children on the bus I took that leave at 31 weeks because my doctor wanted me to no longer sit for more then two hours at a time because I have sciatica. The other job in that company is in the workshop and I stopped that one at 38 weeks.
In case you did not know arc is (association for retarded children)

I was between 8 and 9 months when I took my leave, just so I could have some preparation time before the baby arrived.

I left work at 37 weeks. I was planning to leave at 38 weeks, but I was just starting to feel too tired and overwhelmed, so I asked to leave a week earlier.
I am now 29 weeks along with #2, but I won't be leaving my current job - stay at home Mommy :)

I have always been active during my pregnancy and I gave birth in only 4hours and 23 minutes. My mom told me horror stories of being in labor for almost a whole day and I took the advise of my gyne who said to do a lot of walking and exercises and to keep active during pregnancy. True enough it works.
I took them after birth, I think recuperating after is more important. The longer the better. My family and friends all agree.

I was 10 weeks pregnant as I was suffering morning sickness.
If you have to return to work and only get off 11 months, then try to stick out as long as you can so you have more time with the baby.
Trust me, you'll cry when you have to retun to work and wish you had just that one more month.
