It depends on your gaming taste. If you like traditional gaming and standard Genres, the Xbox 360 is the system of your Choice. It has excellent Racing games like PGR3 or Test Drive Unlimited, Sport Games, Shooters like Gears of War and similar. Everything with the best all around Online-Functions, that I ever had.(yes, even better than on PC). However, Microsoft wants to be paid for this Matchmaking service through Xbox Live Gold (About $4 a Month).
Furthermore you get the Live Marketplace where you can download game Demos (try before you buy), movie trailers, Game add ons etc. for free.
And finally: Together with your PC the Xbox becomes a true Media Central. You can watch pictures and Movies or listen to MP3s that are stored on your PC.

The Wii however is a revolutionary game concept, that is aimed to make fun. Together with some friends you will have the fun of your lives, unmatched by any other console. Assuming you are willing to try new gaming concepts. Personally I can tell you that the demo of the photorealistic Fight Night Round 3 got deletet fairly quickly from my Xbox's Harddisk. Regardless of the good graphics it was just about mashing buttons. However, with the Wii's nunchuck and Remote as virtual boxing gloves it is pure fun to watch smiling stick figures being pummeled around. It may not be realistic, but its fun! Be prepared, that other fighting games on "normal" consoles will become boring, once you try the Wii.

Now for PS3. Similar to Xbox 360 you will get the same standard games in nice graphics. However, there is no standardized Online System. Every game has its own style of Matchmaking. On Xbox, I get a notification if one of my friends gets online. I can see on the Guide which game he is playing and instantly join his game and play with him.
Most games currently coming out for PS3 will also come out on Xbox, or are being cancelled for PS3 alltogether since the stagnating PS3 sales.

It's nice, that you get a Blue Ray Player. But in case HD DVD wins the Format War, you can put the PS3 right next to your Betamax VCR in the cellar.

If Blue Ray Wins, then Microsoft can still build an Blue Ray Add on Player for its Xbox console if needed.

I have both an Xbox360 and a Wii. Both are great and I would say if you're willing to dish out the money for the PS3, skip that and buy the 360 and Wii.

The 360 is great for first-person shooters, like Halo and Rainbow Six, racing (PGR3), RPG (Morrowind) and any other classic type of game. While technically it doesn't have the same graphics capabilities of the PS3, its graphics are the same or better for most games. It also has a massive library of games and some of the best on the market (Gears of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Morrowind). 360 also has the best online gaming BY FAR.

The Wii allows for more party games (Super Monkey Ball, Rayman, Wii Sports) and novel games. Its controls make it a more unique experience, but at times you feel like its a bit outdated, especially graphically. They need to make more deep titles, instead of games like Wii Sports that are only fun right away. It does however have the best game out there which is as deep as any game gets (Zelda). And that probably is worth getting the system for alone.

Get a Xbox 360. It's simply better. There is no arguing this fact. Playstation will eventually go out of business and the Wii is an embarassment.

Wii! The wii is unique, and the games are awesome. I don't care about the graphics. When enjoying a great game, I just forget about the graphics.
