Quite simply, merchandse retailing would be selling "stuff" (groceries, electronics, cars, clothes, whatever) Whereas service retailing would be the process of selling a service to consumers &/or businesses. Examples might be taxi cabs, plumber, house cleaner, landscaper. decorator or many man more.
Th emain advantage of service retailing is there is no need to maintain any inventory of products.
