When Srinath was playing for India there were not many fast bowlers available for selection. However, of late there is competition for a place in Indian Team as many fast bowlers are coming up and the selection of fast bowlers at present is purely based on performance.

When Zaheer Khan entered in the Indian Team, he was the speasrhead of Indian attack. However, he could not maintain his consistency and hence lost his place in the Indian side. Though he has come back strongly, if he has to retain his place in the Indian Team he has to maintain his form and performance and also fitness level.

Under the circumstances, one cannot predict at this stage that he will be the successor of Srinath.

Rock hi how do you do
Zaheer was not in good action he was struggling with his action, Srinath too not in good action for his bowling in earlier days, then MRF pace foundation has clear the errors of Srinath bowling. Zaheer too clear the error of bowling bad action he was not giving the pace and strength to his hands, he just safe launch his legs giving his strengths to his legs only. He has to change the mistake.

Zaheer is a very good player. Due to bad decision of "Idiotic Trio"-Chappel, More & Dravid, he was omitted for a long time from Indian squad. Now he is back with a bang. We may expect a lot from him

Yes he surely can.

He has to stay more in shape and form to cover the vaccum Srinath has created.
