Were they right or wrong? How did it affect you if it wasn't correct? Do you think you would have preferred not to know?

i found out i was having a girl, and they were correct (thank god after all the pink clothes and stuff people gave me!). i am glad i found out, it made the baby a 'her' rather than an 'it'. i think it helped me bond with her during my pregnancy and also choose a name.

Hi. Like the previous poster, I'm also pregnant at the moment, and found out the sex of my baby. I too am having a boy. It doesn't take from the experience of being pregnant at all, in fact it adds to the joy of it. My baby's personality is developing as my belly is expanding. I feel I am getting to know my little boy before he's even born!!
Choosing to find out the baby's sex is a personal decision, and you must also choose to decide whether you will share the news with family and friends. I decided that I would find out for me, and keep the surprise for family and friends for when he's born. The nursery hasnt been decorated yet, and when it is decorated it'll be a top secret area!!
Happy to help and good luck with your pregnancy!

Believe it or not my family has followed an ancient Chinese calender to determine to plan what gender even before the baby is conceived.

I even track down my own date of when I was conceived and the age of my mom, and it shows the same result!

Well I wouldn't be too disappointed if it wasn't anyway. Boy or girl is the same...it was made out of love and it shall be showered with love.

I prefer to know...at least am buying the right stuff and I like to be well prepared.

Yes, we found out the sex of our first born, and they were correct it was a boy. I wanted to know this time around also, and we are having a girl. I was glad to find out to give us time to prepare for what we need.

i found out i am having a girl, i have not had her yet so i guess she could come out a boy, although we had a very clear utrasound view of her. If the baby were to come out to be a boy i would be just as happy as long as they are healthy but it would be a hard adjustment as eveything is decorated for a girl, but it would just be something we would have to deal with. Guess ill find out in a few weeks!!

I havent had my baby yet but they say its a girl. I really wanted to know because I wanted to start buying stuff and I hate neutral colors. If the ultrasound turns out to be wrong im screwed!!

I found out with both of my kids and they were right.
I didnt want to know with my first as I wanted a surprise. But my Mum came with me to the ultrasound and when the lady asked if I wanted to know the sex my Mum said yes as i said no. Then she turned and looked at me with huge puppy dog eyes, so I gave in and found out I was having a girl. Mum cried.
Then with my second I found out because I wanted to be prepared.

With my first we didn't then with my second i would have but it was with a different partner and as it was his first baby he didn't want to, but with our second (my 3rd) we found out and he was a boy like they said, I was quite happy to know with my 3rd but I'm happy I didnt find out about my first as it's part of the excitement, some hospitals won't tell you anyway so you may not have a choice, good luck

I didn't know for either and would like to have known for both. At the same time, I was ok with finding out the day they were born.
