Schengen is about dipensing with visas when travelling between signitory countries not giving them out!.Greece is in the EU so is UK it is not just a matter that you dont need visa you could go and live there if you like.

If you are British with a British passport then you don't need a visa to visit Greece.

I think someone is pulling your leg. If you are the UK passport holder then you don't need a visa to visit Greece.

If you had a European identification card and not just a common passport you was OK to travel, you didn't needed anything else

Why do you need one/ If you're a UK citizen you should be able to just travel with your passport.
