Okay first off, the Core 2 Duos are superior at this point to the AMDs, but I am not going to push that too much because I know some people are set on one company or the other. I will take the rest in the order you listed.

Case is fine if you like it. Get rid of that hard drive. You can get a 320GB hard drive at 7200RPM for about $95. The extra speed in that hard drive you have is not going to make any difference, the only time it would be worth it is if you have a SUPER fast system, any other time the hard drive will not be the limiting factor. As someone else said, if aren't going to use SLI then don't waste money on an SLI board. The video card is good. Also as someone else mentioned, you can get a DVD burner for about $35, so why not get one instead of just a plain reader only. Power supply is lacking PFC and doesn't have PCI Express connector, I would recommend looking for something a little better. As for the RAM, get this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145015 you would much rather have 2 GB of 675Mhz RAM than 1GB of 800Mhz RAM. I already mentioned the CPU. As for Vista, spend the extra $25 and get Home Premium. If you want to ask me for further clarification about anything, feel free to email or instant message me.

Hmm, yes it does well, pretty good setup for the 1000$ range.

Here's a few of my suggestions :

- The hard disk capacity is a little bit low, try at least a 80GB hard drive.

- The motherboard. Are you planning on using SLI (ie, two same name video cards on one motherboard?) if not, try a cheaper one.

- The DVD-ROM drive. DVD writers (Even dual layer ones) are getting pretty cheap nowadays, try buying those instead of only a reader.

- Change the XP 64-Bit to just 32-bit version, most games do not take advantage/require 64-bit computing just yet. This allows you to just use 32-bit and save a bit.

I agree with the previous comment except I would stay with XP, wait to get vista until they've released the first service pack. It may be buggy with some of the games, other than that, yeah I would get two of those HD, instead of downgrading to a lower speed 80 gb, definately stay 32bit, and upgrade to a burner, other than that, looks like a pretty nice gaming machine.
