I am 24 and used to be one of the most intelligent people in my school and had a whole lot going for me up until puberty, then after that, for some reason i lost all my happiness and motivation, i find it hard now to concentrate on the simplist of tasks, i am obese, sad and have an addiction to masturbation. Can anyone explain to me why i have changed so drastically for the worse and how i might possibly go back to the way i used to be?

Reaching out is the first big step to finding yourself again.

In writing this, you have made a decision.

As challenging as change is, you have decided that it hurts more to not change.

You are ready.

What is the next step?

1. Write a wish list, as extravagant as you like.
2. Then write a small step that takes you toward each one.
3. Then choose one to do today.
4. Each day do an extra one.

Now you have the momentum, each day revisit the list and take more steps toward your goals.

I guess you've missed something incredibly important in your soul. Something that you even didn't acknowledge what it is.....
You need to take a trip down memory lane to your past and try to analyze your past meticulously. No matter what your past is your basic foundation and it has built you to be the person who you are today whether you like it or not.
Everyone at some points had lost happiness and motivation in their life. Everyone falls in some points in their life for some awkward reasons which no one could explain why is like that.
But now it's all the matter of how you pick yourself up. How you see life from a different point of view. It's not easy I know.... but easy doesn't make you grow, easy doesn't make you think.... I think you need to manage and maintain the state of your soul and mind, the way that you treat people and the pure love that you have inside your heart. Hope this help a bit.

What I think happened to you is the usual thing that people go through during adolescence. How to get out of it is to find a zest for life. Just think about something you'd like to do... start with a hobby, and learn how to do it, if you don't know already, and then go on to other things. But make sure those things make you happy to do them. It's best to do something that defines you and that you'd be good at. If it's something you like doing, you'll eventually be good at it for sure.
Also, exercise is good for depression. Of course, it has to be fun, or you'll lose your motivation. Try something like swimming, dancing, or just running around for fun.
As long as you like it. I cannot stress that point enough. Hehe.
Good luck to you.

I looked at your past questions and I'd say you had a hard time accepting something about yourself around puberty and still can't deal with it/accept it.

Not everything is acceptable, so it's not bad that you can't accept something about yourself.

I would suggest finding out who God is and allowing him to give you the power to change.

Stop identifying yourself. Every next minute is a fresh energitic minute catch up with it with open mind, without any prejudices. Interact with your positive powers and enjoy the serenity of nature.
