Bring back compulsary national service for ages16-25. Minimum 2 years service (5years if low education pass rates).
This would stop 90% of antisocial behaviour, and would help re-secure our status as a superpower.

Our army needs CANNON fodder in such places as IRAQ and Afganistan, and lowly educated HOODIES are the perfect targets.

Main reason I am now to old to join up!
It would change the anti-social behaviour off some off the youth today if they reliased that they had to join the army if they failed school.

Yes - absolutely. I have been an advocate of National service all my life. It gives young men & women a sense of responsibility and discipline which,lets face it, most of us lacked at that age. When discharged you usually have a person who WANTS to go and get a job and do his/her bit for the country. The only against in all this is that we are unfortunately fighting other peoples wars.

take it seriously everything is now equal, so instead of a hoodie it could be your wife ,sister or somebody else's wife or sister who will be cannon fodder. while your serving you will be only paid 1/3 of the pay for the same work,any cell time over 28days is added on to your service time, and your pay stopped and your wife's allowance is also stopped, then when your finished you will be held in reserve for 3years without pay.I feel sorry for your muddled thinking

I wonder where you get your statistics from. I would much rather my son graduate from high school first and then decide what he wants to do with his life rather than commit to something at the age of 16 when he cannot even remember which clothes go with wich in the washing machine and what temp to wash them on. At least if someone were serving our country I would like them to have a little more common sense that that.

National Service for criminals, to ease the over crowding in prisons maybe.
Community service is too soft on some.

certain the teens of immediately want some type of self-discipline. per chance after those riots the authorities will remove the do gooders and pc brigade and let self-discipline for use at domicile and in colleges.
