did you know that originaly Ep 6 had a alternate ending? i dont know if they actually ever filmed it but MAD magazine shows it.
Leia and Han get married.
but obviously George was forseeing the EU books so he put it off till 94 when "Courtship of Princess Leia" could tell it in more detail.

the first definate sign was in episode 5 in the worm in the asteroid. But there are a few hints in episode 4

it's during Empire strikes back, when she falls into his arms during the attack on hoth. When he is frozen in carbon she really shows her affection for him.
