Downloading or installing Mcafee Virusscan 4.5 would be a waste of time because Mcafee quit updating and supporting that version in December of 2004. That means that any virus created after then will not be detected or removed from your computer. The best thing you can do is either buy a newer version of Mcafee or download a free virus scanner such as AVG. You can get the free AVG virus scanner at:

It is the opinion of many Netizens that McAfee, who charges users with scanner update fees, should be avoided. Instead, look into using the FREE AVG anti-virus scanner for private home computer use.

The AVG free anti-virus scanner does the job impressively well; it's enhanced features, however, are limited until you purchase the full feature version (however you don't need to). And AVG scanner updates are FREE. The FREE scanner is hard to find, but it's there at www.grisoft.com

It is the question globally asked by Netizens "why should I pay to be protected by spammers/hackers? They don't pay to infect computers world-wide!!" And I feel the Netizens DO have a strong valid question.
