Alienware 7500 or Dell XPS 710

For what you would pay extra for the Alienware, you could upgrade the XPS to be equivalent. The fact that Dell owns Alienware seems to have no affect on how overpriced the Alienware name is.

Says who? Check again - they are both highly customizeable - the only benefits available to the Alienware that aren't available to the XPS are the bundled Vista releases and the 800MHz DDR2 RAM as opposed to the 533 or 667 (which, depending on SPD and latency could actually be faster)

No, actually it's still made by Alienware.

The alienware is the better computer for gaming and design, although it is still made by dell. the best way to get a good gaming computer is to get the parts and make it yourself or go to your local computer shop and get them to make it. You will end up with a better quality more reliable system than just getting a dell.

Id go for the dell xps 710 personally. Dell bought Alienware a while back.

There are some dell coupons at http://www.24houredeals.com/Dell-coupons-23-mer.html as well.
