I found that I have these guys ranked closely for this year. Tell me who you would rather have and why between these pairings...
1) Justin Morneau or Mark Teixeira
2) Jake Peavy or Brandon Webb
3) K-Rod or Joe Nathan
4) Houston Street or JJ Putz

1. Justiin Morneau OVER Mark Tiexiera - (Disregard the fact that i'm a MN native & a Twins fan.) Morneau is in a good, young hitting lineup featuring Mauer & Cuddyer. Plus Morneau's swinging the bat like Giambi in his prime w/o the drugs. Granted Tiexiera's in a good hitting lineup as well, i think pitchers will be able to focus on him since they lost DeRosa & Matthews.. Young & Kinsler should still be solid, but i expect Tiexiera's #'s to decrease this season.

2. Brandon Webb OVER Jake Peavy - Jake Peavy still has high strikeout potential, but Webb has much more control in his pitches & is more consistent game after game. Plus Webb's got good young hitters with Stephen Drew, Carlos Quentin & numerous others to back him up. Webb's numbers have been getting better EVERY YEAR in almost EVERY CATEGORY. And last year he only gave up 15 HR's & 50 BB's, had 178 K's, 3.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, & A .246 BAA; I can live with those numbers getting slightly better with the help of Randy Johnson this yr. Peavy scared me way too much last season to take him higher than a more consistent pitcher like Webb, but Peavy has higher potential if he can regain his pitching of past seasons.

3. J. Nathan OVER F. Rodriguez - Nathan has more control of his pitches, and makes sound decisions rather than gamble with heat the way F.-Rod does, which is reflected in his higher ERA, HR's & BB's.. while Nathan still manages to have the same output in K's with a lower ERA & WHIP.

4. J.J. Putz OVER Huston Street - EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY!

That's my advice, but go with your gut.

1) Morneau is coming off a good year, and Tex isn't... which is why I would be Teixeira. I would expect a good bounce back.
2) Bloated opinion as a AZ fan, but Webb is a beast and only getting better. I think he's a better choice.
3) Nathan, no doubt. K-Rod is too inconsistent.
4) You would be really stupid not to take Street. He's about to blossom into the best closer in the AL with Papelbon a starter now - Putz will be out of a job by July.

Mark Teixiera- reigning MVP's never play as good the next year (pujols is an exception)

Jake Peavy- will bounce back from last year, in a pitchers park and a former pitching coach as manager

K-Rod- better chances for saves on a better team that could run away with the division

JJ Putz- won a league with him last year, from the same hometown as him

1) Although I love Morneau, I would take Teixeira. Better track record.
2) Both good, I give the edge to Webb. Numbers are very similar but with Randy Johnson in Arizona now, that takes pressure off of Webb and someone else to help him be even better.
3) Not much difference. They both get saves, K's and a good ERA and WHIP. I pick Nathan. Less injury problems.
4) Huston Street easily. Numbers are good plus Oakland should win more games than Seattle which means more opportunities.

1. Tex, He had a down year last year and is poised to EXPLODE this year! Im not quite sold on Morneau yet.

2. Peavy, Rough year last year with no run support, should return to form this year. Webb had a career year in 06, dont see him repeating.

3. Nathan, with Johan being the stud he is and the Twins up and coming offense, should allow Nathan for many save opportunities! Angels are on a decline, so not many save chanes for K-Rod.

4. Street, A's have plenty of good starting pitchers with Harden being the stud, should have plenty of chances in the weak AL WEST.

1. Teixeira because he's in a hitter's ballpark.
2. Peavy because he's in a pitcher's ballpark and he's coming off a down year.
3. Nathan because he's on a better defensive team.
4. Street because he's on the better team with more chances for saves.

C. Basketball is first then football comes next. Baseball purely isn't actual and it takes 30 seconds to commence a play that very last for 2 seconds. Basketball is none end action and football is as actual because it receives. notwithstanding the extraordinary element is, I somewhat watch the Yankees play over any of my communities in any sport yet in the different events i am going to observe any team for leisure the position as baseball its purely the yankees i am going to observe and per chance Pujos cuz hes a BEAST!. BQ. Play it
