i have been having a lot of stinging, burning whilst having sex and my vagi*na is sore to touch and it has gone swollen - i presume it is thrush off the antibiotics i have been taken can cause it - so i bought the canesten Oral Capsule - this is the first time i have had thrush and hopefully the last - how long does it take to go away after taking the oral capsule ?? thanxs x

firstly i would like to ask if you are using normal latex condoms as it could be an allergic reaction to them, even if you've never had it before reactions can happen at any time.you can get non-latex ones.
it could well be thrush caused by the antibiotics you were taking, the canesten oral capsule is very good (used this myself) and should clear it up in a day or maybe two but you might need to use the cream as well for relief on the outside. i would recommend seeing your doctor or practice nurse if it hasn't cleared up within 48 hours of using the oral canesten in case it's something different.

usually within a couple of days. However you should also use the cream on yourself AND on your other half as otherwise you could keep passing it back and forth for ages.
