Love is when you'll give and won't expect anything in return. Worry about the other well being before yours. I always remembered my husband wrote to me once, we were in a very rough time.He wrote":Love is compromise, not sacrifice ,but with you I do both." Having someone love you is one thing,but being there with you for better and worse is completely different thing.

Good question ,but answers would be different in different contexts.
In a relation of mother & kid vs boy/gilr would be different.
Underline to all types of love is caring/worrying/taking care/ getting happiness while in giving happines to other person.
