In our country, there are many people who are suffering from lack of food and shelter. Our govt. should realise that developing of a country doesn't means rich people becoming more rich and poor people becoming more poor. Overall development must come. The govt. should stop spending money for waste things and start sending officials to villages and make the people aware of the advantages that will come if they learn computer education. And in all govt. schools there must be computer education from 4th class and govt. should select candidates for teaching on merit basis for good quality education. When these occur then, the digital divide you said may be removed. Then 100% may know about computer and become a pillor for our nations development.

First of all in our country we are using Computer as a Typerwriter most of the cases. Computer training means all those programming language and applications like word processing, spread sheets etc. Computer awareness means not everyone become a clerk or computer programmer. Just simple operation of keyboard, mouse and Internet should be enough.
To attract general public the computer should be made friendly to feneral public not Ghost. More applications should be made for the requirement of public. Internet based general application should be made for day to day requirement of general public. Like payment of billls, ticket booking, Wether forecast, help farmers, know latest rates etc.
This all is happening in our country but at a very low pace and will take at least 1o years if current pace will remain. We have everything as far as manpower, infra structure etc. but only the awareness, will power of administrators and IT companies is needed. Our IT companies are just working as third party contractors outside india. They not doing anything for the use or development of the natives of their own country except earning foreign exchange to the country and sending our youths out of country as highly qualified IT labours.
