pushpak does'nt know nything bout jee.
i don't think it's too hard to get in it unless u r fully confident and u have your basics and concepts clear.
there is no need to do thick and wide books.
also u should not have negative thoughts in ur mind and one should be fully prepared to face any kind of condition atlast some hard work is also required and a bit of luck.
is it hard????

Ok if you want to get into IIT with a high rank for comp.sci. it is necessary to have a good english and a very sharp IQ along with the concepts of all the subjects and their applications.
i say good english because there the language is very twisted and we do not care to even read the questions properly. So make sure you do not make questions out of the diagram.
Regarding getting into IIT it is the easiest of all the exams because
1.They check your concepts more not rote based questions.
2.the scores required for a good rank is approximately 40-50% but the toughest thing is to have a minimum set of marks or cut-offs for each subject.
So if your concepts are cleared you can easily get into JEE.
