I'm not going to go as far to say politics don't matter. They do. But when people get worked up over them, it pisses me off. I'm Catholic, I have strong political opinions, but I don't debate. I hate debating, it may be because I'm horrible at it--but I also hate when it comes between people.

I keep my ethics/politics to myself, and vote with them in mind. I don't try to force my opinions on others or raise anyone else's blood pressure. Relax people. Life is too short.

How do you people feel about that?

If you don't fight for freedom you will lose it. We are losing it, everyday! I don't go around starting fights over this stuff but I do believe that debating can open the mind to better courses of action! Your religion should have no impact on your choices made for a free nation. Something one of my economic teachers told me was that every decision is economical. There are reasons that Republicans don't want gays married and reasons that Democrats believe that poverty is most important to fix! I think both of these idiots are wrong! Rather, I fight for freedom for all! This is the fight worth fighting for! Not for Republicans and Democrats, but for true progress and the outlook of society's future.

Sometimes i feel like you, but i learned something about debate. I learned that i must get into a debate with persons who are open minded and wise enough to understand and accept and respect the other opinion. But sure, sometimes it's better not to involve in a nontheless debates because it will bring nothing for us.
Most of the time, i try to be a good listener until the right moment.

I don't know whether I get pissed off or overwhelmed by all the raised blood pressure. I'm beginning to feel the same way myself. So, when the discussion comes to politics, I often just ask for the facts- as in numbers, just give me the numbers. That's all- really.
