Is bitterness the fear of being hurt again by someone? If so then it serves a good purpose. No, it is the degree of injury that makes it harder to forgive. Don't compromise yourself to forgive someone. Don't be a doormat.

yes. bitterness also makes a person not very fun to be around. it can creep into all aspects of their life without them even being aware of it. Better to be forgiving and move on.. bitterness is a total waste of precious time.
