I had lasik 2 years ago and honestly it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. My vision is wonderful now, I don't have to worry about glasses or cleaning contacts. I'm satisfied with the results. But like any surgery, you need to do your homework http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/LASIK/expect.htm
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/lasereyesurgery.html before you commit.

The risks for laser eye surgery http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/LASIK/risks.htm are very minimal but there are risks involved in any surgical procedure. Some of the negative risks for eye surgery are:

-Monovision
-Some patients may develop severe dry eye syndrome.
-You may be under treated or over treated.
-Some patients develop debilitating visual symptoms.
-Some patients lose vision.

In the end it all comes down to making sure you've done your homework on the procedure and that you pick the best possible doctor you feel comfortable with, and trusting him or her. I included some links that should help you to prepare for the surgery and which will be able to answer any more questions you should have. Good luck.

Yes, conditionally. See your eye doctor to determine if you are a good candidate for laser surgery. My father is an extremely well trained and dedicated eye surgeon but does not recommend laser surgery to just anyone. Particularly people who have one fairly decent eye (meaning it works and can be corrected with glasses or contacts) and one severely damaged eye (such as an eye that would not be expected to see well with or without surgery) as in my husband's case. I am not a good candidate because I already see well enough to pass a driver's test without glasses, so any more messing with my eyes may do more harm than good. There are other reasons why you may or may not be a good candidate for laser surgery, so I would get a recommendation of an excellent doctor and get his opinion on how safe laser surgery would be for you in your particular case.

Laser surgery has come a long way.
More than 20 years ago I would have said only to stop bleeding in the eye.
Would I do it yet? Maybe another 5 years but if it is pretty straight forward it might be fine. I am cautious.

No sir, It is NOT safe. Laser eye surgery was developed by the government. While you are there they place a small chip behind the optic nerve that transmits signals to satellites recording your every move. This procedure was made due to the vast amount of americans who wear glasses, and thought of as a good way to control you. If you think this is garbage just think about glasses with cameras in them and how small the chips are....im telling you man, stick with the glasses. Big Brother is always trying to screw with you.
