The first thing you can do for now, is not to worry about it. The best thing you can do is to keep studying hard in school and get the best education and marks you can, because if you do, then whenever you discover your ambition, you'll be ready to follow it. I would also suggest that in the meantime you concentrate on improving your vocabulary, writing, spelling, grammar skills, sciences and all the subjects you are taking. Be the best you can be and eventually something will come to you. Good Luck

Well I know a few things you certainly are not going to be!

Journalist
Teacher
Public Speaker
Author

So now that those few are off the list, that at least will help make things a little easier. There are many who don't know what their future is. That is the fun of experimaentation in various employment opportunities.

Whatever you like doing out of work, find a job that will pay you to keep doing it. Then you get paid for your hobby.

Take the ASVAB and it'll help you with your choice. Your High School should offer it, just ask your college/career counselor. However, you have to be a Junior to take it.

Yes, it is a military test, but it doesn't matter because it won't tell you what you're good at in the military, it'll tell you what you're good at in general and give you some career options. Sure a couple of recruiters may call you (especially if you score high) but just ignore them or join the military (nothing wrong with that).

I am 40 years old and still not sure I know what I want to be when I grow up! My advice to you is to read a lot--magazines, newspapers, websites--see what interests you, and then research careers in that area. Ask people who have careers you're interested in the good and bad points of their jobs. Back way before you were born, when I was in high school, our career counselors gave us a dorky test that was supposed to magically reveal our career choice. Mine was dog groomer. I'm a fire dispatcher, and I love it. Go figure.

I'm 38 and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. I followed the path of who would pay me the most and ended up where I am today; 'IT system support specialist'. A big fancy title for an almost everyday type of job, LOL.

I'm 26 and I dont know what I want to be when I grow up.
In the meantime, I have a university degree, a professional job, and I'm currently back at study.
My advice- You'll never know until you give it a go.

I'm 18 and in college and I don't even know. Don't worry, you've got time. Just try and find something you like doing and explore your options. You'll come up with something eventually.
