Most gyms contract their towels with an outside entity. If this is the case and the towels are white they usually use bleach to clean them. Bleach breaks down any organic molecules which is why it weakens your fabrics. It also is a very strong germicide. A 1% Hypochlorite solution (bleach is 5% hypochlorite) will kill almost any bugs. For health reasons most towels you get in a gym are clean and bug free. But if you are truely concerned about it (because you believe the person handing you the towels doesn't wash his hands) bring your own.

You can never be sure that the towels are cleaned throughly. I would take my own towels with me. Wiping myself off on something someone else sweated on is just gross

I'm sure they wash thier towels, however being a germaphobe myself, I would recommend taking your own towels with you.

I've taken a lot of clients to the wellness center. We must be talking bout diff wellness centers. No one would want to go to the one I took people to.

They are sanitised and washed daily and no two people use the same towel. Not to worry love.

You can never be sure-- take your own towel just to be safe.
