I have this guy friend, he used to be outgoing, funny, and happy around me. After a few months we started liking eachother. Ever since then he doesn't act the same anymore. I think his true self is coming out. Now he is withdrawn, quiet, and depressed(he has depression)

How can i deal with the fact that the guy i fell for, is not the man i thought he was? I'm afraid we are not compatible anymore, i worry about this everyday.

True selves often show up once the need to win someone over is gone.

Sometimes people would not inflict on friends what they'll inflict on someone they're in a relationship with because their neediness comes out in the relationship.

I don't think you can be worrying about what you may already be dealing with. To quote some athletes when they're interviewed after a game, "It is what it is."

If you're not compatible its better that you know that as soon as possible. If the relationship with someone with whom you're not compatible fizzles that isn't a bad thing. There's no point hanging on in a relationship that is destined to fizzle.

If he's depressed and it has nothing to do with the relationship, and if the relationship is strong underneath, it will survive. If you get too taken up with analyzing it, hanging on, and trying to understand what is wrong you will erode things more. A depressed person is not likely to be able to give you the reassurance and support you may need right now, so don't be looking for that.

Try sticking it out and seeing if there's anything you can do to make the relationship work. Maybe something happened to cause this that you don't know about. As a friend, you should try to help him through this and just because you may not be compatible in a relationship anymore doesn't mean you can't be a friend. Maybe he should seek help.

...maybe there's a feeling of boredom between you....for the fact that you've been together for most of your times...so if you wanna work it out try something different that you know will make things better....or maybe your friend might have a big problem that he can't tell to you....or maybe both of you felt the same that for you he's not te man you thought he was and maybe for him you're not the girl he thought you are...lastly maybe he felt conscious when he's with you because he think that your just friends and here you are hiding something that you are falling for him already especially when he knows it already.....it's better if you'll talk to him....

There's this rule that when a gurl likes a guy friend the friendship normally doesn't work out, the guy never wants to hang out acts werid. This doesn't happen all the time, talk it out and i know it's hard but never like a guy who is your friend

Did you start out as drinking or puffin' buddies?
Did you think that you were going too fast at the start?
Were you seeing a lot of each other...an awful lot?

Then the answer is that you are both B-O-R-E-D with each other, and probably were seeing each other through the haze of...well shall we say.. butterscotch incense?
