There are several different definitions to the word "buffet", and each is pronounced differently.

1. ) Buffet--- a blow with the hand (buff-et). To drive , force, move with a physical struggle. in aviation, the shaking or movements of the weather affecting the plane.

2.) buffet-- (buff--a) a sideboard, or cuboard or shelves; also, a counter for refreshments; a restaurant offering food to the public, or on a public conveyance, such as the railroads). a meal at which persons serve themselves, but not at a table.
