Dear we are living in the twenty first century now, & hardly any one can afford to keep his wife at home all the time. Today until & unless both husband & wife work it is very difficult to keep both ends intact. Economic independence is must for all & we hardly see any family where all the adult members are not working if not retired. So men not wanting their wives to work are either Sheikhs or mad as only these two categories can say & do like this.

My dream!!
I highly vaule traditonal roles. Its hard to have intamcy, a clean house and a hot meal on the table when both work. There are conflicting work scheduals and what not.
And the LAST thing any man needs to hear is how bad her work is when he has to deal with the same issues.
There is no control here. There is just an acceptant of the roles we given by God. The man wants to go out and protect and provide for the family, and the wife should take care of thier home and make it a safe, secure sacuaray for when all the work is done. No one ever said that the wife is confind to the home, she is just there to keep it alive..
And btw, these types of marriages where the two REALLY care for each other and do take roels seriously, rarely end in divorce..

Well, I don't know. If you don't have kids, there isn't much sense in you not working. It is always a good idea to work and save up some before you start your family. Get a down payment for a house or save up for an emergency.
However, let's say his job pays well and there is no need for you to work. If he doesn't want you to and you don't feel strongly about working (ie my job is my life) then don't. However, I would personally go insane without some sort of purpose. I would have ot get *really* into a hobby or do charity work. Just because he doesn't want you to work doesn't mean you can't go help out a charity a few times a week. Maybe your church thrift store needs a volunteer clerk two or three days a week. Or maybe you know of some older people in your community would could really use some help doing tasks around the house (getting groceries, flipping mattressing, making minor repairs, cleaning in a difficult area, etc.) I would love ot just be able to volunteer my time to a worthy cause for 20 hours a week than work 40 or 50 hours a week at a job I didn't really need.
Once you have kids, I understand him not wanting you to work. I never want to work while my children are young. That time with them is so precious.

Hey, that sounds fun (definitely, the sit home all day part) especially when there are no children. Consider it a dream or a blessing.
Enjoy life, eat, sleep, @#*@, eat, sleep, @#*@, if this is not a dream what else is?
Get back to work as soon as the kids come along and make a deal to switch the roles

Sounds like a nightmare to me!. What kind of man would want his wife sitting home all day, cooking under a hot stove, and cleaning up animal poop?. Who wants to walk in a house with the smell of Pot Roast in the kitchen, and animal crap,at the back door?. (Ma & Pa Kettle!)

No kids and wants you to sit around on your bum? This guy is trying to control you. After the house is cleaned, you work out at the gym and you go shopping, what in the world do you do all day long? You have to go out and do something, or you will go nuts, become a Stepford wife and 15 years down the road when he finds a new more interesting chick (that works) and is going to dump you, then what are you going to do? When they work and you don't they feel like they own you and you owe them.

Depends upon the other side of the story. If wife really want to work, keep herself busy and want to contribute to the household income, man is very stupid to object, but if she just want to go out to sleep around with other boy friends in the town,it is little complicated matter.

That just depends on what the woman wants. It could be a dream or a nightmare. First thing that comes to my mind is that no man is gonna TELL me to stay home, PERIOD!

let's see how u want to view it. It is a dream come true if you are the kind who likes to be home, who likes to do h osehold chores.. and this is provided that your husband is rich enough to work and supports both of you comfortably. However, it would be a nitemare if you are the kind who loves to be financially independent and do not like to ask for money from your husband. Take your pick, it is your life and you get to choose the right way for yourself to live.
