Under the law the president can't single handedly let foreigners into the country without a vote in congress which is what he is trying to do. Of these 7,000 Iraqis no one knows who they are or if any number of them could be terrorist jihadists from Al Queda or other type of splinter group.

Also the law clearly states that people from any country that doesn't allow criminals back into their country (as Iraq does) can not be given visas into America, period. When Condoleeza Rice was asked about this law, she simply stated "Iraqis have enough problems" and she was very dismissive as if the law doesn't matter at all.

I don't know anyone who wants to let more terrorists into this country. And they plan on letting even more in. I'm wondering if the President has lost his sense of connection with the American people altogether.

Since the chicken---- congress is determined to abandon the whole region to the jihadi terrorists, and lets illegal mexicans come and stay largely with impunity, it is probably a moot point. Once they have murdered all the people who oppose the jihad and worked with us to try and establish a democracy there, they will be coming here in droves to kill us next and I am willing to bet, watching congress work, our borders will still be wide open as an eight lane superhighway. I am going to get my prayer rug and koran early to beat the rush.

You also realize lot of those 7000 Iraqis are those who risked their life working for US troops in Iraq. They're not importing terrorists. These are people seeking safe place. These are families, doctors, translators and good people seeking safe place. They're not just picking random people. These are refugees if you know what that is. I don't think 7000 is enough considering over million Iraqis fled their own country. Not all blacks play basketball and listen to hip hop just as not all Middle Easterners are suicide bombing terrorists.

Syria and Jordan has probably taken in million or more Iraqi refugees already and do you see mad chaos and suicide bombing there committed by Iraqis?

This is same thing asking geez what if that black dude really is criminal? How do I know he's not? I should just avoid him even though I know nothing about him.

I think it's only fair. Are there actually any confirmed Iraqi Al Queada members that predate the US invasion of Iraq anyway? As far as I'm concerned, there are no terrorists in Iraq, only people who are desperate to force out an invading army. You can bet that I'd be one of them if there were foreign soldiers in my country and my country's art and history were looted and destroyed, my electricity didn't work for more than 12 hours a day and I had to wait in line for 3 days to get gasoline.

Let them all in, for all I care. Let them move to New Orleans. They're still about 200,000 people short down there.

There are allowed the following because it is area of the quota the authorities gadgets for the middle East. Amazingly, many people do no longer do not forget that the U. S. has continually had a quota equipment in position after Ellis Island grow to be over run. How they were chosen is a secret, yet they are going to be relocated to establshed Iraqi neighborhoods throughout the country. the following ( Houston) at our medical center, seven Iraqis were equipped with prosthetic fingers ( apparently they were no longer in Saddam's social circle ), and that all of them suggested they loved the U. S. very a lot, which shocked me. i presumed our customs and religions were really offensive to them.

I think it is a grave mistake to allow them asylum into this country. I agree, they are taking the risk of letting possible terrorist infiltrate this country by coming right through the front door.

I'm not sure about Bush's sense of connection with the people of the U.S., but this certainly isn't a wise move to be making.

My friend , dig a little deeper here
this is simply a test case scenario
and if it is allowed--- there are plans to move many more of them here--- this just happens to be the FIRST WAVE !!
This is the Bush payback for the "certain helpful individuals"
that have proven useful enough within the country of Iraq as to "endanger them and their families lives" if they stayed there !!
Another thing to tell you how well it's going over there -- huh ??

There probably are some Iraqi people who deserve to live in America, but letting 7000 of them in all at once it way too much. How can they possibly know the backgrounds and history of all 7000 of them? That's impossible, and I bet there is more than 1 in that 7000 that has links to terrorism.

The intention of President Bush might be to be a "big brother" to all even whom you consider to be your enemy after all America is noted for her charity and love. Why not try to accommodate people like the Iraqi; it might turn into "gold"... if President Bush really mean what he says.

As a Republican I can say that Bush has suddendly gone over board with his immigration stuff lately. Letting illegal Mexicans and Iraqis here is preposterous and makes me want to move to another country.

I think there is a ranch in Texas that has been recently cleared of brush that would be a great place for them to live.

He broke it, he owns it.
