im not concerned about the materialistic gift. isnt it the thought that counts?? a card. is not valentines day for sweethearts & lovers??? mothers day is for that purpose as well as xmas ect. is not the roles mixed up would you say?? he is 47 and i dont understand his thinking.

Yeah, that is a little strange. He should have gotten you something as well. I usually get something for my mom and dad and brother, but the boyfriend generally comes first... Maybe he has a bigger surprise in store for later in the week or for the weekend. I really hope things work out!!!

It's nice to give Valentine's gifts for moms, even grandmothers. But he should have gotten something for you. Next year, get him a gift a wk before Valentine's Day so it can hopefully serve as a reminder that he should get you something. It doesn't have to be expensive. A small heart shaped box of chocolates would be fine.

He should gotten you some thing along with his mother which I'm sure she is a little old and her husband is not around any longer to get her something . But yes he should not have forgotten u ..

He sounds like a momma's boy, get ready to spend your whole relationship competing for his affection. Mom will always come first. It's not a bad thing, but it can interfer with your relationship. He didn't forget, he just has his priorities a little off.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back and I have never forgotten it. I don't understand why they do this, but I told my husband one of these days he will pay for this and he will.
