1. Friend, this question appears in the UK & Ireland section. Maybe it doesn't show in the Philippines part (?).
2. I would have thought that a good answer would involve:
a) religion - with the Philippines being predominantly Christian, the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill", I suspect the Quran says something similar also;
b) community spirit - the community has to support, encourage and protect its spokespersons [RIP Antony Licyayo, peasant leader and presenter on community radio station Radyo Cagayano];

c) natural rights to life, freedom and justice - every individual should expect to be able to live a life free of fear, violence and tyranny, where fairness, consideration and harmony dominate.
