Sure, why not? While we're at it, let's get rid of the constitution, charter of rights and freedoms, due process, and just run the entire "free" world based on some hypocritical religion. Genius...

Oh, and if you really lack the brain cells that you just showed you lacked, that was called sarcasm....

You pose a very interesting question. This country was founded on freedom of religion and also on separation of religion from government. This a part of what makes America great. Maybe you could convince yourself that having a government based on Christian civil and criminal laws would address issues such as crime, homosexuality, and racism. But then a government, say the USA, would then be the mirror image of Iran (a country where Islam is the basis of all civil and criminal law).

Nope. If it was, we'll revert to the Dark Ages & judging people as witches and Witch Hunting v2.0 will be reloaded. Admit it, even the priests can't tell the exact meaning of Holy Trinity. And, you want it to be the base? I agree it as a base as long as people really understand the essence of religions & Jesus teachings. If not, it will only become the seed of hatred & war. Like Terrorism 2.0 Christian Edition vs Terrorism 1.5 Islam Edition. Have you been in Bali? The legal law is secular, while the social law is religion & culture based. But, they can maintain the open-mindedness & tolerance towards the nude & drunken caucasian tourists. Can Christians do that?

no because Christianity has nothing to with civil and criminal law. it states that the basis of this question should be based on the opinion of the person not on what they believe

Of course not. Religion is a man-made construction. Men make mistakes. Religion is about faith, not logic and science. Any person who takes their religion too seriously inevitably misses the point. For example, if all people who believed in Jesus acted like him, the world would be a better place. Jesus was a kind, wise soul.

Plus, it is not within the spirit of christianity (pure christianity, not the BS form practiced by people solely motivated by fear of death) to empose their beliefs on others. Many people who would say otherwise mistake creed for religion. Under such a circumstance, if the bible is indeed accurate, these people would not be elidgeable for the reward they seek after they die.

Absolutely NO. For a start it is immoral to force Christian views and laws on to others and secondly it has failed before.

Its was used during the "dark ages" and look what happened to western Europe. It stagnated while other cultures flourished.

To revert to this form of society would be criminal and a giant back step in human progression.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! The basis of Christianity is Love. Love of God, Love for Self and Love for others as ourselves. True Christianity is about manifesting this love on a daily basis by allowing it to flow to self and others through showing kindness, joy, faith, hope, patience, humility, faith, self-control and love. Christianity continues to get a bad rap.... but this has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do human error and human ego. Be blessed.

Generally YES, but most criminal law provides a justifying, mitigating and even exempting circumstance on crimes committed. It is an immoral to kill and commit sins and no justification to it. Christian teachings are said not to commit revenge, agression but be mercifull and humble. In other words faith to GOD but that doesn't mean to let someone kill you. Dont be litteral save yourself....run.

Sure (sarcastic and sickened face) we could use another hypocritical legal system to pad the egos of some self-serving white house inhabitants.... Oh, and just in case there are some right-wing bible-thumpers reading this... This country was NOT founded by Christians... It was founded by Deists..... Let's try and keep it that way....

As a historian, I actual ought to disagree inclusive of your evaluation that Christian scrupules were what stopped slavery. That become the often-repeated pretext, yet no longer the real reason. the real reason become monetary.
