"Get a life!" simply means that, in the eyes of the individual making the comment, the person or group to whom it is directed is most likely not using their time wisely, and needs to change priorities.
A good example is when your Aunt Carla sits in front of the television every day, eating Krispy Kreme donuts while watching soap operas and passing gas instead of helping President Bush solve the ever-increasing overspending on Capitol Hill. What would you say? Or take the example of your dearly loved but misguided cousin Frankie. He is really a handsome dude and would be any woman's dream catch, but instead of going out and sharing his wonderfulness with the world he chooses instead to sit at home and pluck the hairs in his nostrils while waiting for a Hollywood talent scout to knock on his door and whisk him away to stardom.
What would YOU say to either of these pathetic yet dearly loved individuals if they happen to be your relatives?!?!? You know the answer, of course! You would take them aside, give them a hug, then lovingly tell them that though you love them and care for their ultimate salvation, they really need to get out and....GET A LIFE! :-)

Get a life is an American English idiom usually intended as a taunt. The phrase generally instructs its addressee to go out and make their way in the world, without being supported by outside sources such as parents or benefactors. It may also be directed at someone who is perceived as boring or single-minded like morons, to suggest they acquire some other, more practical interests or hobbies and get dates, find a job, move to their own house etc.

Get a life means to change and do something productive. Do something with your life instead of acting stupid and getting into other peoples business.

It means that you are to focus on something unimportrant. It is also a way of tell you to mind your own bussiness, and can also be an insult. It is a form of slang

That means they think you are obsesed with something. They're suggesting you are so tied up with something you don't care about anyone else.
