Yes! I have a the same kind of friendship with girl-friend of mine. She's in this relationship with this guy who I really don't like. Personally I don't know why she chose him instead of me. I guess it might be that I'm a good guy and she likes the bad guys so...that's her life.
Anyways, just becuase some girl that you like is in a relationship dosen't mean you can't be friends with her. Who knows if she breaks up with her b/f she'll notice that you are a caring and lovable guy and she'll fall in love for you BUT don't get your hopes up.
So in short. Be her friend...you'll never know what will come out of it.

Absolutely, you can still be friends. It sounds like she was being totally mature and honest with you. She is being respectful to her current boyfriend as well. She sounds like someone that would make a good friend. Now, If you are going into this friendship with a preconceived notion that you will eventually be her boyfriend or that you will be there, if and when, her current relationship fails and she will then fall into a romantic relationship with you then you are going into it with the wrong idea and only setting yourself up for heartache. If you truely want to be her friend then go for it. You can't have too many friends.
Good luck.

Sure, be her friend and respect her current relationship. If that changes, she may look for a good friend whom values a relationship, and understands her.

Considering how you feel about her, I wouldn't pursue her, even as a friend. Just by being in the picture, you could cause her to unknowingly come to you with her problems with her boyfriend when she should go to him instead.

If you like her, and you told her, being friends might get awkward, but hey? give it a go anyway, i wish you the world of luck. you could try to sabotage her relationship, no no, just joking!

Yes you can be her friend, but you will basically be a doormat waiting for things to change, better to look for another girl that is not involved and be her friend.

dont be friends if you're only hanging around in case she gets single one day. a guy who i thought was my best friend for years did that, and when i found out thats what he'd been waiting for, it ruined our friendship
