New Brunswick is only 30miles southwest of NYC!!
Go there and find all the nightlife you can handle.
Small quaint out-of-the-way bars to mind numbingly large clubs.
Sorry, I do not live in NJ but have visited New Brunswick a number of times.
New Brunswick has a wide variety of cuisine at quite good restaurants.
Pubs? There are quite a few.
For one of the best, go to the Dolls Place

They have late-night dining and live music also.

I use to live in new brunswick when I was a little girl. My farther was in the military and I use to come up there on the summers. Its a great place....
