You must have college counselors you can see. Perhaps they can assign someone to help you out. Have you contacted your profs to ask for help explaining the situation? Most teachers will be helpful and will have had a similar situation occur. Maybe you can hook up with other students in your class and get copies of their notes plus have them help you with your written homework.

If you are very physical normally (i.e. playing hockey) you might need to get out and just walk. Some fresh air and exercise can help a great deal when you are feeling down.

This is a bump in the road - not the end of the world. Ask for help and do it tomorrow. See what suggestions they can give you. Perhaps there is a work-study job they can give you or some extra financial aide available for someone in your situation. Hang in there - this isn't so bad and you can handle it.

Never be embarrassed or shy about asking for help. Our son who is in college, too, has learned that and it has really helped him. He was very sick last year and he got a lot of help when he just let his profs know what was going on.

Several years ago I tore my radial collateral ligament in my right hand. I had to wear a cast for several weeks, which made everything (work, home, recreation) extremely difficult. I ended up teaching myself how to write left-handed! Tackle this challenge head-on and make the best of it. Use your sense of humor. Of course your writing will look like crap, and you will have to make the best of the situation. But look at it this way--you could have broken both of your wrists! Or you could have failed to break your fall and landed on your face and crushed your skull.

Poor guy! Sounds like you're having a bad luck streak in dancing school! Look, I know things look pretty tough right now- but this too shall pass. Stick it out, fight your way through it, do the best you can- and hang in there. One day down the road- you're going to hit a streak of GOOD fortune when EVERYTHING is going to seem to be going your way...-And THAT will explain WHY you're going through what you are- now. Life always evens up the score. -The trick IS, to keep playing & rolling the dice... Good luck.

You need to tell your regular doctor the things that you told us.

He can and will help you solve this problem. Seeing as how you are an achiever, you need his advice to pursue your goals while you're in the cast. Don't be afraid to ask for his support as many times as you need it. Good luck.
