I've been told to stay away from Limewire; it has many viruses.

Yes there is. www.itunes.com and www.musicmatch.com and www.emusic.com and ......

peer to peer (kazaa and limewire among them) are full of junk and riddled with viruses.

Why not record direct out of your digital cable TV box into your computer. Put it on the 60s or 70s station. Or satelite radio. You could record it onto your VCR first to edit out the stuff you don't want. Record it as a wave on your computer, then convert to mp3. If this is just one copy and personal use, there's no harm in it.

The best way is to exchange a DVD full of mp3s with a friend.

Peer to peer file exchange on kazaa etc. is not safe because you get files disguised as mp3s and kind of piggyback along. MPEGs are bad for going to links when you start them up and sometimes contain viruses.

I have used Limewire and have not had any problems.. go it from another person here on Answer Yahoo!
