I remember seeing a show of ppl living in remote areas around the world some with battries hooked up to some old b+w tv just too watch Baywatch lol........Its not still baywatch is it?

I can't believe some of these answers! Why would the most popular show in the world be American Idol??? It is crap enough watching our own country's Idol let alone watching yours!
I do agree that Oprah Winfrey seems very popular worldwide though

Probably American Idol, too, as there is world-wide satellite service now and people all over the world are able to follow this. There is also world-wide cell phone usage now so they can also call in their votes. The Internet is international, so there's another link. The world has really "shrunk," hasn't it?
