What's the point of being rude and mean if its just a reflection?

If I find that I've been rude or mean, I can usually see that I've been tired or hungry or frustrated.

However, I honestly try not to let that side show. The only people who see the real me are my husband and kids.

It depends on the paradigm. To some, being straightforward is rude/mean, to others it's honesty. There's a certain line where one crosses into rudeness, but it's often difficult to tell what that line is with a certain person. We all need to dial up our tolerance meters and dial down our sensitivity to dumb-**** meters and give people the benefit of the doubt, on both sides of rudeness. Maybe that car honestly didn't see you, maybe that dress does make you fat, maybe you shouldn't say a dress makes your spouse fat on valentines day. Whatever it is, that's what... I don't know... what was this about again?

Some ppl have no character. I could dislike someone to no end, but I cannot bring myself to be mean or rude. It's just not in my nature, or my raising, and has never been in my heart.
