I'm fairly young (b 1982) but some other prominent people who have lived since then would include:

Presidents Clinton, Reagan and Bush.
Saddam Hussein got himself into the news a lot.
Mother Theresa should probably also make the list.
Significant leaders in China might also be put on the list (Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, etc).
Don't forget major Soccer players: Pele especially, Maradona, Ronaldo, David Beckham, etc.
