Answer the questions politely and thoroughly. Hearing "yes" or "no" from a job candidate for each question is frustrating because you then have to ask a ton of open-ended questions. At the same time, know when to keep your mouth shut. You have to find the delicate balance between not giving them enough information and telling them things that will make them uninterested.

I would typically prepare 4-5 potential questions to ask an interviewer, simply because they may answer one or two during the interview. Definitely ask for their business card (so you can follow up). Anything else that isn't about salary or benefits is fair game. Good luck!

Follow the interviewers lead. Be polite, and professional. Do not use slang words or phrases. Say yes and no, not ah ha or nah. Wait until the interviewer ask you questions before speaking. Do not ask about the job benefits/ pay/ vacation until the second interview ( or the end of the 1st one if there is only 1interview). Dress for the job you want, not the one that you have. Never bad mouth your former bosses or companies. When asked about your weakness, stress only the positive. For instance, "I feel my weakness is that as a hard worker I hold my standards up for everyone else, and I must understand that not all people are like me, so I am working on that".

Answer all questions completely. Being too brief or too long winded are both mistakes. Ask no more than 4 questions.
