I was in school for a 4 hour animation class today (starting from 11:00), and I laid my I-Pod down on the table in the animation room at about 11:30. So, people were saying they saw my I-Pod before they were leaving--to go home--on the table.

Now, there was a kid who allegedly stole a teacher's I-Pod from last year, and I saw him peeking in and out of the animation room today while I was working. Though, I was not facing the table that had my I-Pod on it. I know I shouldn't have just left it there, but usually I put it in my sweater pocket, and I didn't have my sweater. There were probably about 7 to 8 people at the most in the class room at the same time.

What is the first step I should take besides looking for it--which I did for an hour from 2:30 to 3:30 and ended up having to catch the late bus home--? I already took it up with administration, and no-one has seen or turned in an I-Pod according to faculty or students--the students who were still around school at the time.

You are not going to get your ipod back. Keeping asking questions but your chances are low.
Keep it on your body at all times. It is so small and so easy to steal that is like leaving candy in a bowl and telling children not to eat any.
Try putting it in your pant pockets (front)
The only other place is a locker with a lock if you are lucky enough to have one at the school.

In all honestly, schools SUCK at making an effort to recover stolen property. I had my iPod stolen from my backpack and I knew exactly who it was but the administration at my school refused to search the person because graduation was that day. I'm sorry to say that you probably won't get it back. But you should always try before giving up all hope. Tell the school principal or whoever takes care of stolen property that you have an idea of who the person was. Give reasonable evidence and ask that they please talk to the student.

Hopefully you get yours back..I didn't get mine back.

Sorry that there's not much to do...Schools normally lay back on problems like that because they don't want people bringing in valuable items that have the potential of being stolen.

Sorry to say you're probably not going to get it back unless you can identify it somehow or confront the guy and potentially make an *** of yourself. Is it engraved or something so you can at least prove it is yours in the event that you do find that this kid has it?

honestly unless someone saw a specific person do it there is nothing you can do. Just live and learn. You can't search people and the person probbaly won't bring it back to school and if they do they will put their own music in it and you will never know if it is actually yours
