My husband and I have been TTC for 4 months with no luck so far. Every month we try something new that we have heard helps to concieve. This month we bought a male fertility test and from what the test says my husband may have a low sperm count. We are going to consult a Dr for a real test. My questions are these: has anyone else used these at home male fertility tests? Are they accurate? Also, can anyone offer some suggestions for conceiving if in fact we do have a low sperm count. Thanks for your answers!

I'm not familiar with home sperm kits - they sound iffy to me. But here's a few "home remedies" before you get into the costly medical stuff: and your husband gets to do all the work!

First - have him switch from briefs to boxers. Tight underwear can restrict blood flow to the testicles, which reduces sperm count.

Two - no hot baths for him. In fact, cold baths are best, but that is asking a lot - especially in February!

Theee - no sex EXCEPT when you are ovulating! This means no masturbation either - just save up all those sperm for the right time. Needless to say, make sure you do make love on those days, and make sure it all - um - goes in the right place.

Four - try to get him to lay off caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and/or marijuana. They all reduce sperm count.

Okay, this last one's for you - after you make love, you STAY IN BED with your legs raised over your head - wrap your arms around your knees, for comfort - for about 15 minutes. This lets gravity help the sperm get to the right place.

Good luck - my son is six months old now, and we are pregnant again! Keep trying.

Cheers,

Samlet

properly, whilst we've been attempting to get pregnant, my physician instructed us to no longer have intercourse every day for the duration of my height ovulation time on account that lowers you sperm count kind. He instructed us to do it another day until eventually the day until eventually now, the day of, and the day after my ovulation-we could continually have intercourse those 3 days in a row to make confident that we've been given the dazzling day of my ovulation. i don't comprehend if this could be distinctive by using fact of your husbands low sperm count kind, yet i do no longer think of it would in view which you prefer to have intercourse on the dazzling time, and you do no longer desire to omit your height ovulation time. It took us a million a million/2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to get pregnant and neither one human beings has a situation, so i'm hoping that each and everything works out for you 2! solid success!

There is a fairly new technique they can do w/ low sperm count. They will have your husband ejaculate into a cup, and "spin down" the semen until it's just a high concentrate of sperm, then inject you w/ it. It seems to have a high success rate. Also, they can do invitro w/ your egg and your husband's sperm which would be more expensive.
