Physical terrain and food.You are what you have been eating in the past...As time progresses though generations,ones climate and enviorment will allow a certain amount and type of food to grow.Adversely,the population that consumes it, passes these nutrients from this certain type of food through it's lineage.Remember that life does not respond well to pressure.It wants to be released into a new medium.Not held back.That is why we left the trees and started walking...Tom Science 4

The environment provides the selective pressures wich guide evolution. For example, if the environment becomes much colder, creatures will evolve thick fur, or other ways of keeping warm.
