You don't have to, but you should. Your body just forced out a small human being, and needs time to recuperate before you get it started on the next one!
I would wait, becuase even though you feel fine, your insides might not be all the way healed up, and having sex could possibly introduce bacteria into your uterus, which could lead to a bad infection.
But if you absolutely have to, make sure that you use a condom, even if you have some other type of birth control that you were wanting to use. That way, you know that the condom came out of a brand new package and is clean.
Hope that helps, and congratulations on your new baby!

Six weeks is a guideline given by OBs...mainly because that's when the next checkup is. Your OB can release you for all pelvic activity. If you had a normal vaginal delivery with no or minor tearing/episiotomy you may not need to wait that long. It all depends on how comfortable you are and when. Bottom line, go slow and use lots of lube, not matter how long you wait.

in case you experience as though each and everything has healed properly-- given in case you had stitches or something, i do no longer see harm in it. At your appointment your rfile will do exactly a rapid seem to be sure you're positive, yet you're able to comprehend your physique properly sufficient to comprehend if something become incorrect. in case you experience as much because it and are waiting, I say decide for it. We have been instructed the 6 week element besides, yet we did no longer have intercourse lower back until eventually approximately 12 weeks... and it harm like heck. It persevered to accomplish that until eventually my son become approximately 8 months, then i individually began noticing progression. in basic terms comprehend if it does harm, it is difficulty-loose, and not unavoidably a difficulty. I in basic terms found it took an further long term for my physique to get it is hormones leveled out lower back.

No you don't have to wait 6 weeks, but it is advisable. Try to wait at least 3 weeks or until you have stopped bleeding. Since you didn't have any tearing or stitches you don't have to worry about anything going wrong with those.

I waited the 6 weeks b/c I had an episiotomy but I have friends who had sex after 4 weeks and they were fine. I personally would wait until my doc gave me clearance though.

Six weeks is the minimum, and generally when your doctor will "release you." But I can tell you from my own experience that I was unable to do anything for many months afterwards. It was very painful for me for a long time. But everyone is different; you may have no problems at all. Just take it slow.

Yes, its important to take that time to heal (even though you may feel healed). You are at greater risk for infection if you don't wait the whole time, and you'd probably be surprised by how painful it could be if you have sex too early.

I would think sex is furthest from your mind.
However, your body is still healing and "re-sizing" back to normal (even without stiching or tearing).
Speak to your OBGYN- if you MUST.
