Hey thanks taking the time to read this. I just need to know if there are any good guitar books out there that focuses on shredding. I want to learn how to shred like a *****. So far I shred sloppy and slow and I've been trying to teach myself how to shred for a couple of months with little to no progress. I tried going to forums but they can't elaborate what they're trying to say. Thanks. Peace.

There is a book available on amazon by Paul Hanson about shredding on guitar. But...if you ask any 'shredder' our there...from Paul Gilbert to Yngwie or whoever, you can bet your metal *** that they didn't learn from a book. Best advice- get a book on theory and technique, and just practice! Extremely slowly, and make sure there is no tension in your body or in your wrist or fingers. Then, once you can play the scales, patterns, and arpeggios very slowly, kick it up a notch. Also- you should check out "circular picking" and "sweep picking". Sorry I don't have any books for these- maybe a few lessons would do it?
