Sadly... Yes. This question brings up so many sad days in my youth. When I still was young and beautiful, and I had my pick of man. Back when I was still on the D'L' . The men I love and remember the most were all confident in their sexualities. T'was a shame, that they were stronger than I back then.

if what you say is true, then he must be exhausted in keeping up appearances. that could account for his 'moodiness' and change when people get to know him. it's difficult to be yourself. it's much more difficult to be someone else for all other people. he may be in denial - which would add to the emotional exhaustion. i've found a couple of times that it was worth the risk: once, a friend was very, very touchy about being labeled as gay. and one day i mentioned something about someone and he construed that to be a 'question' or 'comment' about his sexual orientation and he responded similarly to your friend: 'waddya mean - you think i'm gay or something?!?!?!?' . so i stopped and took that risk. 'yes, i do.' and after all of the dust settled and the crying stopped and accusations were over, he admitted it. and went off to live a happy life. but that's a risk you have to be willing to take.

That is an excellent question.
I never rejected someone I was interested in, but I do regret denying my sexuality to a former co-worker who came out a couple of years before.
There may not have been a romance connection there, but I think it prevented us from becoming better friends.

Yes. My first gay guy-friend. After our little experience, I went into shame / guilt / denial / repent / rebuke trip and looking back I really treated him poorly just because I was not accepting of myself. He was more experienced and knew that I had to work through my junk. We are friends now.

Don't you know that to resist someone is no manner at all. Of course never. Life is too short and regret will always follow.
