neon trtra would be my guess... but there's something else I thought of right away also, but has for some reason has slipped my mind right now. I'll look it up and get back to you. here's an example of a neon tetra:

oh, there's also painted glass fish (whihc are not naturally like that, they are dyed, very cruel):

Glass catfish are pretty clear except for the head and a small area behind the head where it's organs are. There are also glass fish,a sort of clear to white tetra which the wholesalers add dye to,a very cruel thing to do.

Called glass catfish. The bright colours are dyes that are injected into the fish just under the top layer. Just plain cruel

My guess would be a painted glass fish. They are tetras that are injected with dye. Some are injected a solid color and some are just outlined with blue,pink,purple....

The Glass catfish is pretty much see through with the exception of its insides. Though it may not be what you are looking for since I dont believe any of them have much color to them.

Condos for Betta Fish. But I VERY much suggest that you do not buy one for a small area for betta do not like small areas to swim in..and their like expectancy is a lot less in one.

its an indian glassfish. the neon colors were injected into it which is what insursed its short life in your aquarium.
if you want psycadelic fish go with "glo fish". they are danios that have been altered with genes from jellyfish or something. they aren't abused and wont die like color injected fish.
