I'M N 8TH GRADE AND I HAVE TO DO THESE PROJECTS WHERE I PICK AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WHO HAD A ROLE IN BLACK HISTORY. I DID HALF OF IT NOW I NEED THE OTHER HALF WHICH IS TO TELL WHAT THESE QUOTES ARE SAYING.
“Somebody must show that the Afro-American race is more sinned against than sinning, and it seems to have fallen upon me to do so.”

"The only times an Afro-American who was assaulted got away has been when he had a gun and used it in self-defense."

"Brave men do not gather by thousands to torture and murder a single individual, so gagged and bound he cannot make even feeble resistance or defense."

well the first one, she's saying that she has become the spokesperson for the Afro-Americans, she is their voice, speaking up about racial prejudice

The second one. She seems to be saying that to protect themselves from racially motivated attacks and survive, Afro-Americans have to carry weapons to use in self defence otherwise they stand little chance

And the last one. She is saying the tormentors of the Afro-Americans are cowardly, that they do not attack their victims one to one, they attack in larger gangs, and render their victims helpless (gagged and bound) so that it is an unfair 'fight'
