Considering that chameleons do not change color to match the backgrounds in real life, those of us who know about the animals know you are lying through your teeth.

This is also a pretty delicate species. If you are carrying it around and putting it places its fingers cannot easily grab, you are also a poor keeper not interested in the health of your animals.
